Nottabat-man seems to be having a problem being the victim of mistaken identity. "It's difficult making a name for yourself with HIM around. I don't even think we look anything alike" Nottabat-man told sources.

Sketch-a-Day 148/365: Nottabat-Man
I tend to draw random characters sometimes with generic hero masks. This one ended up looking a lot like a certain caped crusader that I have decided to official dub him Nottabat-Man, because he's not the Batman :P
I really enjoyed the sketch method I used on this one and I'm really pleased with the results. I think I may have to try and stick with it if my brain can erase a lot of what it learned before hand.

Sketch-a-Day 147/365: Unnamed Character Design
Decided to get away from the third-party IP for a bit so I whipped up this quick random character sketch. It has potential for being something worth using. Looks a little like the Punisher got a hold of some Iron Man armor to me though.

Sketch-a-Day 146/365: Black Spectre
Bringing the week of characters with Black in their name to a close I bring you Black Spectre from Moon Knight's rogues gallery (I completely omitted his belt and swords...oops). I could really keep this going as there are a lot of characters utilizing black in their name, but in all honesty, its been a very smudge filled week from all the shading so I'll just move on from the subject. :)

Sketch-a-Day 145/365: Black Manta
Outcast Studios runs a weekend challenge for Saturday and Sunday which doesn't quite fit my sketch schedule of one a day so I deviated from the challenge as I will most weekends when I follow their weekly topics. I did however keep with the Black named theme they started. For Saturday I went on my own and chose DC's Black Manta.

Sketch-a-Day 143/365: Black Knight
Hey look at that, another character with Black in the name! Thursday's sketch subject from Outcast Studios was Marvel Comic's Black Knight. I have to say I really struggled with this one, probably because I was never a fan of him. The whole Crusader Knight theme in the modern world was kind of silly to me and I hated the re-vamp of him in a leather jacket and lightsaber while still keeping the helmet had me just abandon keeping track of him completely after it was done. I have no clue what Marvel did with him after that.

Sketch-a-Day 142/365: Black Mask
I think there's a theme building here of characters with the word Black in their name over at Outcast Studios with the DSC. Today's challenge was DC's Black Mask. So basically it was like drawing Red Skull only in black instead of Red...

Sketch-a-Day 141/365: Black Cat
Day two of Outcast's DSC this week brings us Marvel's Black Cat. I think I made her boobs too small in all honesty. Felicia Hardy is usually portrayed as quite implantically (possible non-word there) well-endowed even for comic woman standards.
Tonight I came to the conclusion that my new sketchpad sucks. I had been suspicious of it for a while now but confirmed it the past two sketches.
Note to self: No more brown cover strathmore 400 series sketchbooks. Stick to the green cover recycled ones. Paper specs may be identical, but they are not the same.

Sketch-a-Day 132/365: Female Armor Take 3
I think I'm getting happier with this type of armor design, still bound to be some tweaks along the way but I'm happy enough to finally dub this as Felicity from Heritage. The hair style is even what I wanted for her too. :)

Sketch-a-Day 128/8365: A New But Familiar Face (to me anyway)
Mid-week and hey! I know what I want to work on instead of just random stuff, go me!! This is a character that's been in development hell for me since I have two versions to design that have to look somewhat alike yet still alien to each other. I think i finally found his human face though. Say hello to Malicen everyone!
Oh, and as a tip: you've seen his not so human quick face sketches before.

Sketch-a-Day 127/365: Seems So Familiar
I started out making just another generic comic villain, though it's eerily familiar and I just can't put my finger on it exactly. Anyone want to help me out here? I think I majorly fudged his right hand and forearm too :-p

Sketch-a-Day 124/365: Bad Storm on the Rise
Sure it was a bad joke at the time but the punk revival of Storm rocking the mohawk and leather turned into something iconic for the character to many readers today. Personally I always preferred the mohawk over the luxurious mane of white hair

Sketch-a-Day 120/365: 30 Minute Colossus
Tried again to keep my sketching time to 30 minutes AND worked completely from memory on this one. Didn't turn out too bad. It does make me notice a big discrepancy in my consistency when it comes to styling though. May have to keep at it.
