More of a drawing than a sketch but in the same amount of time. I may be getting faster, or I was just really into the subject matter. Monday's sketch/drawing (scrawing? dretch?) is of Lady Mandarin armor Psylocke. The X-men's own resident psionic Japanese-by-way-of-Britain ninja warrior. Psylocke was always a favorite of mine when I first got into comics though I never read any back history on her beyond her Lady Mandarin era. Mainly because I was never into the Excalibur comic or Captain Britain. If so I probably would have known she was really a blonde and just dyed her hair that awesome purple rather than believing all this time it was a mutant trait. Bummer.
Sketch date: 4/29/13
All 20-XIII sketches are now available for purchase of the original sketch for just $30 US. All sketches (starting at 14) are on 9x12 Strathmore 400 Series paper and are treated with a clear gloss fixative to prevent against smudging. Visit the 20-XIII Shop tab for more details or click here.
